Our Vision of Tourism
Sustainable Tourism should contribute to the economic and social development of a region while preserving the environment and cultural heritage, and enhancing the local identity by promoting community ownership and participation.
By promoting a cluster approach in tourism planning, tourism becomes a tool for regional development by linking secondary sites to Centers of Distribution by a physical (infrastructure) and branding (promotion) connectivity.
The criteria we consider for a project to be sustainable is:
- Conserve the ecosystems, biodiversity and populations by an adequate exploitation of natural resources of a region without trespassing its capacity of a systematic renovation
- Social equity and ownership that will pass from generation to generation
- Sound practices that will be economically sustainable in the long term
For a tourism project to be economically sustainable, it should be market driven (market intelligence), offer an added value (competitive advantage) and should have a solid marketing plan.
